Some Quick Updates...

Some quick updates from my side.

1)3.5mths since the birth of EQ. I have not update her birth or post anything thereafter coz, as usual, I am trying hard to cope. I guess I just suck in time management and caring for newborns.

2) QY is very jealous at this stage. He's always thinking EQ is keeping us away from him. He's always looking for a chance to press her body parts hard.

Most babycare of EQ is left to the maid and hb. I cannot carry EQ at all. If I do, QY would stop whatever he's doing then and try to pulls away her limbs, in an attempt to get her away from me.

I am going slow with QY. Some advised me that I ought to carry EQ more so that QY understands that she is part of the family. But knowing QY, I know he requires more time to adapt slowly. He's improving slowly so long as I am not carrying EQ.

EQ is a very special child to me. No words can describe it. I know she understands why I can't carry her or spend more time with her. And I know she will be blessed and loved by all. It's something strange but I don't know how to explain it.

EQ will grow up very differently from QY. She will be more independent as well.

There are drastic changes at work. I can't blog or surf the net as much. I'm not complaining much on these. I just hopeeeeeeeee that I do not have to travel frequently.

I'm going to Shanghai next weekend. I am worried about QY. I don't know how he is going to cope without me around. He's superly sticky now. I will be testing EQ with frozen EBM this weekend. If she is not taking it well, I will just have to try FM on her.

EQ hates my milk just like QY. She's basically a sleep and drink bb who rarely fusses. The only time she makes noise was when we try to give her milk. And coz of her "hatred" for milk, she manages to sleep through, a few days before reaching 3mths.

I-Explorer @ Downtown East..

I'm always curious at this place coz I had heard so much about it but yet been there. So finally this day, we made a change. The thing about indoor playhouse is the air condition in this hot weather and I was melting away in my 36wks of pregnancy hahaha.

QY found a giant mushroom and played with it like a drum.

A funny picture of him posing together with the mushroom.

Finally he's at this toddlers area, rocking away happily.

Playing with the big blocks.

And crawling through a hole.

There's this relax place for the parents to rest and notti QY pushed me away and sat there comfortably for a while.

Conclusion: Father, son and me still preferred GoGo Bambini. I-explorer is huge but the obstacles are not that compact. QY spent most time running around in I-explorer without doing much.

D-Story Club...

It's getting really hard to control this boy at D-Story Club these days and I bet all parents must be hoping that we would not be around. Thankfully the teacher was very patient with QY.

This day, we saw QY standing up while the teacher prepared pancakes for them to eat during snack time. And since this very day, QY was forever at home cracking open his toy eggs. Talk about role playing -_-'.

QY's idea of school is just playing with toy cars and whined throughout the story telling, craft and music time. It's only after lesson that when we brought him to play with the toy cars outside that he settled down :(. But look at how happy he was, finally.

QY with his gleeful look when he played with the motorcycle.

My only comment was tired... tired... tired...

17 July 2009

Tired But Still Want to Play...

QY got very sticky to us during this period and he would stay up late just to play with us. Eventually there was this nite he dozed off to sleep in this position.... :)

Go-Go Bambini Again...

I had cravings for durians today. Initially we wanted to go to Ellenborough Market Cafe but it's fully booked and we ain't impressed by Plaza Market Cafe. So, the daddy searched the internet and realised that Goodwood Park Hotel has this Ala karte Porridge Buffet with Durian dessert and off we went there.

The disgusting boy acted cute and tried to pose for a picture with his "ugly looking" face. Must remind him of how cheeky he used to be in future.

The porridge buffet was great, fresh and hot. And of coz the durian dessert was great as well, though QY wouldn't touch any of it. It was also this day that I learnt that my mum had long exposed him to chocolates and he looovvvveeddd them -_-'.

With no plans ahead of us, we went back to GoGo Bambini for some fun time. This time round, I went in with the father and son. Look at QY role-playing going marketing and buying chocolates -_-'.

Happily, happily in a pool full of balls. Gone is the paranoid mummy and welcome the crazy mummy who just wants her son to have pure simple funs.

QY saw the older kids climbing up this obstacle and fall back on the ball pool and whined for it. What could the daddy do but just to guide him on the climbing and the free fall.

There was a time when QY did not dare to crawl over the tunnel but this day, he's able to do it with some persuasion on our part :).

Father and son down the slide together.

This is the area that QY giggled and laughed alot. When the pressurized air forced the balls to "fly in the sky", it's like magic to him and he couldn't stop laughing. Anything, everything, for this kind of laughter. :)

Another picture of it.

QY dozed off on the way home and I was dead tired. At times, I was amazed with the energy level I have in this pregnancy as well.

28th June 2009 - Rasa Sentosa Resort (Singapore)

After a full breakfast, we headed back to the beach. Much as I preferred the pool, the boy insisted on the beach. Look at him pointing up at the palm tree happily.

Another happy shoot of us together.

The daddy managed to find 2 lil crabs in the water and QY's really amazed with them. But he would only stared at them without touching them :pPPp.

Father and son playing with water and letting the crabs go back to the sea.

I had my "me" time in the jacuzzi while the daddy was stuck with the boy in the arcade room. Seems like he did not want the swimming pool this time round.

It's shower time while we ordered room service for lunch. It's pretty much water play as well though it's much more confined.

Cranky lil boy at the pink lagoon pool.

Though he's very cranky, I am still glad that I went ahead with the trip. At least he had funs at the beach and the acrade room. :)

27th June 2009 - Rasa Sentosa Resort (Singapore)

Rise and shine! After a full breakfast in the buffet cafe, we headed to the pool while the crowd was not there. I think I had created quite a lot of stares with my big and bulging tummy. I got this swimsuit at the shop in the resort. Hahaha, it's 3XL. Look at QY looking in amazement with this water gun and he had lots of funs with it.

He's well equipped with water toys this time round. But he's not doing well with sharing. He always stared when some other kids came near to him or tried to play with his toys. But the scarly lil kitten dun dare to snatch the toys back though hahaha.

After a shower, it's happy time in the room. Look at him helping himself to the blueberries. And look at the stuffs surrounding the bed. His toy cars, we definitely needed them. A vehicle book that he's hooked onz these days. And of coz, his favourite pacificer and pillow.

Same location, different time. I like shoots like these to show how much the child has grown.

This time round, we really went to the Underwater World. The daddy was holding on a starfish for QY to touch.

Dinner was buffet in the resort. And once again, it's a messy and noisy affair for this cranky lil boy and I was getting tired and fustrated.

It's arcade time thereafter and the daddy trying to show him how to shoot the ball. I also like shoots of him "looking up" at the daddy. Such close father and son. It's always so heartwarming :).

The boy's crazy about cars. And he spent the longest time with these Daytona cars. And look, he's really sleepy right?

Tiring, tiring day with the cranky lil boy. Much as I dun wanna the precious moments with him lost, I oso wished that the day would end soon. Contradicting right?

26 June 2009

26th June 2009 - Rasa Sentosa Resort (Singapore)

I think I am crazy. With QY enjoying himself so much at Sentosa last month, I planned for another one this month immediately after the 1st trip. And the most crazy part was that I was oredi 33weeks preggie. But I just wanted to spend more time with QY before the arrival of his sister. We would never be going to do this again, the three of us. This time round, it's 3 days 2 night. More time less tiring.

This time round we were more well prepared with QY's toys as well. With him watching the chinese karoke DVDs at my mum's place, his first agenda was the beach. Look at the pampered boy, not knowing what to do when sand got into his shoes. And he expected me to help him remove the sand okay??? -_-'.

Pouring water into the sand. Simple joys that made the boy laughed.

A family portrait using the self-timer function.

Collecting water by the seaside. He had finally forgotten about the sand in his shoes kekekeke.

Immediately after the beach fun, he went to the playroom, playing with the Little Tikes Car and the slide.

After a quick bath, we brought him down to the resturant for dinner. The cranky little boy needed pacificer in his mouth as he missed the afternoon nap.

I think he dozed off to sleep very soon after we reached the room. Not an easy day, he's cranky most of the time. Made me think that I had make a poor decision to revisit Sentosa soooo soon :(

My Helpful Lil Boy...

1) "I want to open for mama to eat."
- Takes out a box of bottled birds nest from the kitchen cabinet.

2) "I want to help mama clean the floor."
- Takes over the magic clean mop from my hand.

3) "I want to help mama bath."
- Follows me to the bathroom.

Gosh~!~!~! I dun need him to help me bath hahahaha :pPPp

During Difficult Times and Being Thankful...

The new maid that came couldn't make it and we decided to send her back. This was not an easy decision as I was oredi heavily pregnant. But things just got to move ahead otherwise we would be stuck in a worse situation when I gave birth. So we went maidless for 1.5 weeks while the processing of the transfer maid took place.

I took half day leave throughout so as to give my mum some time to rest in the moRning while she tried to cope with QY homealone in the afternoon. Each morning started with giving QY breakfast and using the magic clean to clean the floor. I did laundry on some days and folded the clothes on other days. And before I know it, it was time to bath QY and urshered him to my mum's place. After settling him down at my mum's place, I took the LRT to Sengkang and had a quick lunch before taking a cab all the way to my workplace - Tuas.

My mum would cook simple dishes and I would also add-on some tabao food. After helping her to wash the dishes, we hurriedly went home and I had to bath QY before he went to sleep. During this period, QY did not even wanna his daddy to bath him :(. That 1.5 weeks was very tiring, for me and my mum.

But still, my mum still cook healthy good foods for QY and I am thankful for her help. I just wanted to jot this entry down to remember the difficult times and her help.

QY and His Favourite Color & Go-Go Bambini Again...

Do you believe it? QY's favourite color is "P.I.N.K" and he's really crazy about it.

And when he saw this pink car at Takashimaya, you guessed it. He wouldn't want to leave the place. He's staring and mumbling to himself while he stared at the car and observed the wheels. The security guard gave up on him as he went through the barrier to have a closed look at the car.

After lunchie, we couldn't decided on where to go and when we asked QY where he wants to go. He gave a very simple answer - GoGo Bambini. And off we went to the exact same place where he had much fun just last week.

Down and down the slide he went. He used to be very afraid of the slide. But these days, he overgrown his fear and kept on going back to the slide.

The sticky lil boy kept running back to the cafe to find me and have his snacks.

Self feeding himself with a blueberry muffin.

QY standing up on the platform where the pressurized air blew the balls up. Wanted to remember this picture as he was giggling and laughing so loudly whenever the balls "flew" in the sky. It just seems like magic to him. :)

Another weekend just went passed like that. Simple funs to keep my lil boy happy :).

My Sweet Lil Boy…

Scenerio 1
The other night after playing with his construction toys, he refused to put them back into the box and was whining away on his mattress when I asked him to do so. Then I asked him ”What if mummy walks in the middle of the night, trips and fall down?”. He replied confidently ”Mummy will not fall down”. But after which, he still proceeded to pick up all the pieces and put them back into the box. :)

Scenerio 2
The other night he was tossing about in his mattress trying hard to fall asleep. I proceeded to keep his favourite toy bus which he ”parked” on my bed. He noticed and whined. I was tired and picked up the bus and put it back on the bed in order to keep him quiet and said ”But mama wants to lie down on the bed and watch you fall asleep. But with this bus on the bed, how is mama going to lie on the bed and watch you sleep?. He jumped up, picked the bus from the bed and went to keep away the bus.

That's him, then... for a short lil while only..

Lamborgini and Go-Go Bambini...

It's one of those days where the weather was hot and we were out of ideas on where to go. In the end, we went back to our comfort zone, a place where I knew QY would have funs and I could have a rest - GoGo Bambini.

Upon reaching the carpark, QY spotted his favourite sports car, Lamborgini. Look at the excitement on his face, while pointing at the car.

You know, actually he's more attracted to its wheels than the vehicle itself. Couldn't resist snapping some shoots of him staring at the wheels.

QY going through some of the obstacles in the indoor playhouse. The daddy was accompanying him while I was resting and having a drink in the cafe.

QY and his disgusting homewear -_-'. We really couldn't get him to wear anything else but the dolphin.

Me cheering QY from below as he went down the slide.

Must really thank the daddy for giving QY two hours of pure simple fun and bonding time with QY while I had my two hours of rest.

06 June 2009

Another Day at D-Story Club...

... There were tots inside me to temporarily stop QY with his enrichment classes at D-Story Club. He's going through terrible two now and is particularly whiny during classes. I guessed all other parents must have secretly wished that we withdraw from the classes as QY's very disruptive.

But after two weeks of missing lessons, he's able to participate fully. I am so proud of him. Look at him, sitting down in front of the teacher... just waiting for the teacher to flash the sports car card. :PppP. And look at his size, compared to his peer :x.

Then QY waited patiently for the teacher to give him the egg-shaker.

As a reward for his participation in class, we decided to let him have his funs with his favourite school activity - playing with cars, for a good 45minutes... :)

I hope things would be easier from now onz.

He Who Idolise You....

... stands by the gate while waiting for you to come home from work.

... makes you sit down by the sofa just to watch him play.

... sits by your lap playing with the soup spoon while you eat dinner.

... runs after you the moment he realises you are away from his sight.

... waits patiently outside the toilet door while you bath.

... watches you pee and shit in fascination, all the while refusing to leave the smelly toilet.

... calls out "ma-ma" in his sleep with no apparent reason.

... screams "ma-ma" during his nightmare and expects you to sleep besides him thereafter.

... is my son - Qiyuan.

24 May 2009

24th May 09 - Rasa Sentosa Resort (Singapore)

Rise and shine. The lil boy woke up at his usual timing, 730am. It was again time consuming to coax this boy to change his clothing before going for breakfast. Errrr, the monkeys outside the balcony did the trick. I had to bluff him and tell him that the monkeys would enter the room if he's slow. I know it ain't the right way but sometimes, it takes 10-30minutes to get the boy to do something.

The breakfast spread was amazing though. Different flavours of yoghurt's and different colors of cereals for the boy. They even served Babybel cheese! I'm so thankful for this healthy and wide variety spread of breakfast and was happily feeding him with them.

After breakfast, it was another dip into the pool. This boy gave me a sad sad look and tears started to flow when I told him he couldn't bring the pillow to the pool. We both compromised and we kept the pillow in my diaper bag. It was another struggle applying sunscreen for him. But he forgot these initial struggles the moment he touched the waters.

The sun got warmer and we left the pool after 45minutes. Father and son were both enjoying themselves in the room while I prepared his bathing water. One was rolling on the bed with the pacifier on his mouth and pillow on his hands. The other was reading the papers with TV at the background.

It's the promise of bus-rides that did the trick to bring this boy out of the hotel room. And can you believe that he's more interested in bus-rides and tram rides than seeing the underwater world???? And his wish came true..... nothing except bus and tram rides.. the underwater world can wait, the compulsive obsessive boy cannot wait...

That's the furthest we went to, the entrance to the Underwater World. QY looking inquisitively at the sea-star.

Father holding onto the son while they looked at the sea-turtles.

QY posing in front of a big-big wheel. This is the first time he actually posed for a picture. I wondered whether it's because of the wheel?

We found this restaurant for lunch. Quite a cool place. QY enjoyed wandering at the place while waiting for lunch to be served.

QY amazed with the different kinds of dips for the fish n chips and Nachos. That's my mocktail and the daddy's hot pot of tea. It just goes to show how different we are ;).

Well, conclusion is that he loved plain Nachos with no fanciful dips.

I thought of ordering rice and cod fish so that he could eat with us. But the strange tastes in the food drew him off. Thankfully, he took quite alot of fish n chips.

See, I told you this place is quite cool right? QY enjoying his rolling here and there while we dined. There were real beds in this restaurant but these were all reserved :(.

A visually tired looking QY.

But he did not forget about the bus-rides.

And doing his routine inspection of the wheels on the bus.

We reached back the hotel at 2pm plus. And after a quick pack-up, we finally checked out at 330pm. At the hotel's car park, QY continued his religious activity of inspecting the wheels.

An overall very good rest and relax weekend getaway trip. I'm wondering whether I should do this again, next month prior baby's arriving. It's gonna be the last time the 3 of us do anything together before a long while.

23 May 2009

23rd May 2009 - Rasa Sentosa Resort (Singapore)

... After much hesitation, I've finally booked this resort for a two days one night stay meant for the daddy's birthday. Thought it would be a nice weekend getaway and QY would be fascinated by the swimming pool there. It's also gonna be the first time for the 3 of us to do something together, though still pretty much in Singapore.

I did the packing on the morning itself and we reached Sentosa at 1pm. Haiz... should have packed the night before and set off earlier right? Blame it on QY's crankiness the previous night that I couldn't get anything done then.

That's QY, runnning back on the pavement when he saw a bench tram approaching.

QY standing idly while waiting for the beach tram to reach the bus - stop.

QY and his funny look with the sands on his feet. Saw his cute lil tongue sticking out?

We checked into the hotel only at 330pm, way past our initial plan of early check-in. What to do... when both the daddy and son love to take things on their stride slowly. The delux seaview room turned out disappointing as our room was located at one end of the hotel, and it's a few minutes walk from the lift to the room.

QY saying that he wants to "nua" at the sofa. Arggh.. the baby cot was too small for him. We had to let him sleep between us in the night.

QY happily snacking on his blueberries. Saw the lines of vehicles by the bed? That's his favorite pass time these days. To run the vehicles by the bed and arrange them in lines.

QY practicing his swimming before going down to the actual pool.

Finally, it's the real swimming pool. I couldn't get him wear his swimming costume. Luckily the late afternoon sun was not strong.

The boy's basically very happy to be in the water. See the simple, happy look on his face?

Now, look at this.... :)

Hahaha, the silly little boy's practicing "stroking" the water.

Finally after one whole hour in the pool, we managed to coax QY out of the pool. But getting him to bath in the hotel room was difficult. This lil boy and his daddy were happily lazing around on the bed. Argghhh like father, like son.

We dropped by the kid's playground before heading for our dinner. I really don't understand his fascination with these coupe cars. I mean, we have one at home and he seldom touches it. But whenever he sees them outside, he goes crazy about them.

Since this was supposed to be a hotel stay, we decided to go for the hotel seafood buffet dinner. I ordered a mocktail as well (thought it would make a good substitue for my cocktail and sparkling wine). But both items turned out disappointing. And QY was only interested in the fried bun from the chilli crab. Thankfully a bowl of noodles soup saved the night. But this parnoid mummy still kept on asking the daddy whether her lil boy had a good and full dinner.

We went back to the hotel room after the dinner. QY was so tired by the day's event and dozed off to sleep while we were wiping him down. Well, at least I had an early and good night rest as well. It's time like this that I wish I ain't pregnant, perhaps then I could sip in sparkling wine and some finger foods with the daddy while the boy sleeps....

17 May 2009

Sunday Day Out...

... This morning QY woke up and we asked him where he wanna go. With a sincere smile, his answer was "We go Ikea to play" (in Chinese).

Since we didn't have any plans, we decided to go ahead with QY's wish. Look at his smiling face when he saw the furry soft toys.

And lugging one of them with him whenever he went. The funny little boy gave this instruction to the toy "You sit down here first, later I come play with you okay?"(in Chinese).

After around 30-45 minutes, he got bored and told the daddy "We go to that place can run very fast" (in Chinese). Actually in our minds, we knew that he's refering to the ECP again but no way are we going back there in this weather.

And off we went, to Suntec for lunch. We had lunch at Crystal Jade. QY refused any porridge at all from the daddy and was only interested in my soup noodles. But he was sOOoOooOo sOoOOoOo happy when he saw the steamed buns. Remember buns is another of my boy's craze? The old couple besides us also smiled when they saw QY's excited and happy look. Really, no words can describe the look on his face then.

It was a stop at the Koi Garden after lunch. The playful QY attempting to step over the water to see the water fountain and got his socks all wet :(.

Father and son looking at the water feature.

There was a red car on display for a lucky draw. And QY wasted no time in doing a car (wheel) inspection. And this is what I meant whenever I said he's doing a wheels inspection in the carparks. He would squat down and look at them this close.

And once, he touched the wheels before and got his finger all dirty. He had since then learnt not to touch the wheels in the carparks. But I don't know why he's trying his luck here.

A trip to Toy r Us proved to be a nightmare. QY wanted to get a small little Ferrari Enzo car. The daddy nearly bought it for him but I had to insist no. QY was already oversized to sit in it. He cried and cried all the way from Toy r Us back to the carpark. Upon reaching home, he found his motorcycle, pointed at the wheels at tell me "This car also got stars" ( in Chinese). He's refering to a comparsion of Ferrari Enzo wheels and his motorcycle's wheels *faintz* -_-. I was so thankful at that moment we did not get him the Ferrari Enzo then.

Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day Celebration in the school this day and the kids were using the air-con music room coz of the hot, hot weather.

QY presenting his 3 lil balloon flowers to me. I think he's more interested in his orange flower though -_-'.

We had dinner at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant in ECP with my parents. That's the only location I could think of with this wild boy on hand. Having a long dinner in a small restaurant would be a high risk activity for us now. Well at least there's plenty of running spaces for him in this outdoor dining area.

Just look at the way he ran. He ran and ran non-stop. The daddy concluded he have clocked in a few kilometres during the whole dinner session. I seriously think he aspires to be a runner.

Stopping for a moment. To enjoy the sea breezes and admire the waves? N.O.P.E!. The people at the background were blocking his straight path -_-'.

If wishes could be granted on Mother's Day, all that I wish for is for:
1) my boy to behave more normally (like usual kids toys and do usual kids stuffs)...
2) my boy to be more understanding...
3) my boy to continue to have his good health...

Now I understand why some parents dun need their kids to be geniuses.

Self Weaning Process off Porridge...

... my mum complained that it's harder feeding him porridge now. He would refuse porridge and rather wait for a late dinner comprising of rice with us.

I did not have any option. Much as I would prefer him to eat his porridge as I still view that as more nutritious and balanced (aka more organic stuffs, more lentils, more greens), I am not the main caregiver. My mum and the new helper had lost control over him during meal times. He had refused to sit on highchair and sat on the sofa while eating. And of coz when he got excited or when he dun feel like eating, sitting on sofa makes his escapes much more easier. The new helper was not helping much and I knew my mum was having a very difficult time as well. Sooooo, there was no choice but for me to go along with the flow of the current situation.

My suspicions came true. In the past he would poo every single day, sometimes 2x per day. These days he onli poo-ed once every 2-3 days. Now I know why mummies always get so excited over this pot of gold.

I guess I just have to let go.......

10 May 2009

Frisk n Romp @ Big Splash...

... We ran out of ideas where to bRing QY. Based on Mattew's mummy recommendation, we decided to give this In-Door Play House a try. It's quite expensive - $18 for 2 hrs and the area was quite small. But end of the day, we felt that the trip was worth every single cent. "Why?"

QY warmed up quickly to this place as there were only a few toddlers.

He climbed the obstacles on his own and real fast, without much coaxing from any of us.

QY found his all time favourite - car.

Gliding down the slide happily. Just look at his lil tummy hahaha.

QY flickering with the pom-pom. I loved this picture as it made me looked so slim still hahaha.

But QY getting impatient when all that we wanted was a shoot of him and the daddy :(.

But the main reason why this trip was worth every single cent was QY found a motorcycle.....

.... and he rode... and rode....

... non-stop for two whole hours!!!!

The daddy and I basically just chilled out, relaxed and chatted at one corner of the place while watching over QY.

Oh forget to mention two things:
1) QY's wearing his homewear singlet which he insisted on wearing out. He kicked a big fuss and I also kicked a big fuss over it. In the end, he won the battle coz he kept crying.

2) I'm so much in love with the natural curls on his hair again but everyone think he's a she and family members have told me to cut his hair :(

Visit to the Sengkang Fire Station

It's Vesak Day this day and off we went to Sengkang Fire Station, courtesy of the kind arrangement made by Elbib's mummy.

Personally I liked this visit alot as it was very educational and fun. I guess one of the main purposes is to generate public awareness. There were lots of chances for hands-on as well (just that I am not so much into them as I was exposed to some of these things in my course of work).

A family picture taken in front of one of the engines.

QY and his lil firefighter friend - Mattew. Matt's so cute with his fireman's hat. But the poor boy was sweating so badly.

QY looking at his daddy donning the Breathing Apparatus Set. This set is not light okay? It's about 13kg in weight and the breathing span is only around 45-60minutes (depending on how heavy is your breathing). I wore this a few times before during my younger days while training to be an Emergency Response Team (ERT) member for my company. Therefore, I was not as amazed as QY :P.

Father and son picture. Not fair that the father is not wearing the full face respirator!!!! hahahaa

A real life demonstration on how to use the 2inch hose. That's the spray mist, good to lower down the heat during the fire. The hose can be fined tuned to a spray jet, good to "distract" the fire in order for another fireman to shut down valves etc.

This visit to the Fire Station somehow turned into a "Wheels Inspection" for QY. He went round the whole station, inspecting and giving comments on all the different kinds of wheels he saw.

"This wheel got protruding holes."

"That's a Big Big Wheel!"

"Hmmm, the tread marks on this wheel still looks good. Okay, Pass!"

It was followed by a quick lunch at Ikea. And of coz we stopped by the children's area for QY to have some more fun. He immediately picked these up and put them on the table upon seeing them.

Sorting and rearranging. Girls will never understand these things about boys....

QY playing the slide....

... and how happy he was.

I was told that the Central Fire Station has a museum which will make the trip even more educational. Maybe we shall give this place a visit when QY's older and understand more things.

04 May 2009

QY on 4th of May 2009...

I had a horrible birthday lunch this year. QY was not interested in his own porridge lunch at all and was walking (actually running) all over the resturant. And when the daddy brought him to choose a birthday cake for me, he went all crazy and demanded for a cute looking tiramisu cake. How to give him tiramisu cake when it contained coffee and caffeine? It was only a long fuss that he settled for some muffins. :(

Upon reaching our house's carpark. QY said he wanted to ride the bicycle at the playground and off we went. Look at him holding on the steering wheel :).

The daddy and I were actually the ones peddling the wheels while the world around QY moved.

That's another thing that QY loved in this playground. Actually he's very much into wheels and things that moved now.

Holding on and studying the shape of the wheel.

Finally a family picture taken on my birthday.

If there's anything called a "birthday wish", my wish is for QY to be more understanding during this period. I am getting physically, emotionally and mentally tired out by this pregnancy and the sticky QY.

Punggol Playgroup @ Keanne's Place

It had been a long while since I met up with the group at their place. This week they were having a Cookies Decoration Session, to practice what they had learnt from a recent workshop.

Look at the cute toddlers busy at work.

They were really hardworking and serious.

My lil QY? Haizzzzzz.. He's only interested in eating the cookies. And he finished everything on his plate, without any decorations at all :(.

Back to the living room and showing off the items in his shopping cart.

Thankfully Keanne has 2 motorised vehicles that kept QY entertained while I rested and relaxed at his place. And of coz the tasteful chicken rice that QY had for lunch made his and my day even better.

After a fun filled morning, the kiddos met up again at another mummy's baby shower. And once again, a spinning gear toy in the house kept QY well entertained while I chilled out.

"Playful Bunny" Book...

I got this book from the school booklist.

The first time I introduced the book to QY, it was near his bedtime and he was running along our bed, pushing his toy buses. I said the title out loudly, but he was more interested in running his buses. Sadly I put the book aside and thought "maybe it's one of those bad purchases again".

The 2nd time I introduced the book to QY, it was again near his bedtime and he was doing the same old activity of running his buses. This time round, I was determined to complete reading the book aloud to him, whether he liked it or not, and said the title out loudly again. He stopped running his buses numerous times, when I told him what the animals were doing and made him participated by pointing the animals out.

Last night, I saw him taking out the book by himself during bedtime and flipping on the pages....

Me: "Oh you are reading a book. What book is that?"
QY: "PLAYFUL BUNNY!" (mumbling loudly via his pacificer)
Me: -Left Speechless-

Reading to an active toddler does not requires him to sit on your lap and focus on the book totally.

Jacobs Ballas Children Garden Again...

It's official. We have ran out of places to bring QY. And here we were, to the same Jacobs Ballas Children Garden again.

The same bridge photo. This day, QY had initially refused to continue the walk on the bridge when he felt the rocking motion. But after he saw a 5-6 years old girl ran across the bridge, he felt and decided that he's gamed enough for the bridge as well.

QY associated this garden with throwing peddles into the pond. And here he was, doing his all time favourite activity.

Father and son looking intensely at the fish in the pond.

QY finally had a chance to play with this musical instrument. He had initally sat beside it quietly for a long while and waited for his turn. It's not often that he's patient. I couldn't do anything about his pacificer. This little boy is forever demanding it from me. At my mum's place, my mum's managed to control him.

I think I gotta find new ideas and places to bring QY. He's definitely bored with this park. In less than 1 hr, he told us he wanna go back to the car. Perhaps the hot and dry weather's doing the trick as well.

The daddy brought him to GuanYin Temple to pray while I waited for them outside. It was followed by buffet brunch at Prego.

Busy Busy Saturday...

The morning started off with QY's class in the D-Story Club. The kids were having a pinic in the garden this day and QY brought some strawberries to share. In exchange, he ate some tarts and banana cakes. After which, they had outdoor funs in the garden.

The daddy teaching QY to kick a ball.

Then the poor daddy had to hold onto QY while he kept on asking for triller rides.

It was followed by the routine visit to the gynae in TMC. QY exhausted his energy while waiting for my turn by running to and fro in the clinic, at the amusement of the other patients. The poor boy tripped and fell down twice.

After lunchie in TMC, we went to pick up the car at the Whitly Carpark. And the notti little boy refused to get into the car. He's more interested in looking at the big buses in the carpark. Did I forget to mention that he's totally into buses, cars and things that move these days? Look, he's even holding on the 2 vehicle books we bought him earlier onz.

The tired QY fell asleep on the journey back. And knowing that this boy will not nap during the afternoons when we, the parents, were around. We decided to continue the day in the zoo. QY woke up and found himself at the zoo's carpark kekeke :P. Luckily there's ample biscuits in the diaper bag, all ready for the hungry toddler.

Managed to find this truck at the "Australia Outback". QY was of coz excited to be able to drive this vehicle. And he kept on driving and driving, until the mummy decided the best way to make him leave the vehicle is to say bubye to him and disappear slowly. The scarly lil QY would surely stop whatever he's doing and follow :P.

QY's eyes were not so much on the animals this time round. Instead, it's on the trams. He's on a constant lookout for them during the whole journey. And the clever lil boy knew that he gotta stand behind the line when one's approaching :). No worries about him dashing out heads-on with the tram. Look at him pointing and exclaiming "Bus" -_-'.

After a 1.5hr stroll at the zoo, we went home for a quick dinner. And after which, we brought QY out to fetch his grandpa back from work as well. Tiring and joyous family day. I'm amazed with the amount of energy I have during this pregnancy.

Some Statistics @ 23 wks 4 days
BB's Weight = No update
Mummy's Weight 69.9kg (upz 1.6kg in 4 wks & pre-pregnancy 67.7kg)

"Mommy, Carry Me Please" Book…

I bought this book recently. It's about different animals asking their mummies to carry them.

The first time I read the book to him, we were only at the 3rd page when he suddenly said ”Mama, Bao Qi Yuan Hao Ma?". I was surprised, it took him so fast to grasp the overall idea of the book.

Bewildered, I took the same book out two nights later. I had only said out the title of the book in English, before he said the same sentence to me in Chinese.

These kids and their minds… they always go beyond our imagination. Amazed!

Auntie Go Home.. Take Aeroplane...Philiphines...

... this is what QY would say whenever I tell him "Auntie went home".

It's been a few days since the previous helper went back. We brought QY to the airport to send her off. And when we tell him auntie's going home then, his eyes turned red but he did not cry at all. The following day, he only asked for her once, and no more. He could even tell me "new auntie" when he first saw her in the lift the other day. Never did he asked for the old helper again. I was alil taken back by his behavior. I thought he would be moreeeeeeeee attached to her coz she took care of his basic needs for the past 1.5yrs, such as changing diapers and bathing. But anyway, guess this is a good indicator that our past efforts in spending whatever time we have with him is worth it, and that he's not too attached to her.

But he's not taking the new helper well. Though he did not cry whenever he saw her, he's forever saying "bubuyee auntie, dun want auntie". He refused to let her change his diaper and bath him. Every small little thing, he would whine and make noise, or worse still, cry whenever we were not able to understand him or give him what he wanna. And he kept on asking me to carry him.

It's very emotionally draining. I cried alot on the first day and tears dropped as I penned this entry. I missed my happy and cheerful QY. It's really only at this moment, that I realised how important he is to me. I used to take things for granted and let the previous helper manage most of his stuffs. I know it takes time for adjusting, and frankly speaking, for his shy nature, he's doing very well already. But it still pained my heart whenever I hear him whining away and crying away....I don't know how much longer I can take........

Ikea Day Out..

...Our home is in a total mess now. QY’s toys and books are everywhere. It’s time for us to put things in order, especially with the new baby coming soon.

So, we spent our weekend in Ikea searching for furnitures to complete his bedroom and his play/study room. While we were busy deciding on what to get, QY was also busy with playing on the slide. Here’s some pictures of the cheery lil boy who had just overcame his fear of slide this day.

Happy lil boy with an orangey nose :(

"Down and down the slide I come."

Just look how happy he was.

Not exactly what I would usually allow him to do. But some times his actions were just too fast for me to stop.

Finally, it's checkout time. The happy and tired boy sitting on the trolley, with his legs wide open -_-'. Luckily he's not a she :PppP.

Pics of his revamped room to be updated at a later date.
